Stigma and attitudes towards mental health have massively shifted over the decades; becoming more recognised as an illness. Treatment options and access to treatment privately and through the NHS has increased, and many social barriers and perceptions surrounding the topic of mental health are being broken down.

As we grow our services in Folkestone, Recover Physio & Wellbeing want to ensure that we are available to support new and existing clients from an emotional and mental perspective; not solely assisting with the physical healing process as we typically do through our physiotherapists. We’ve recently welcomed Virginia to the Folkestone team as our on-site counsellor.

Counsellor’s work with clients through emotional and psychological stress, with a common goal of helping the individual by providing information and insight, supporting the person through each session, discussing alternative resolutions to problems, and ultimately empowering the individual to make positive decisions based on their needs. Going to counselling doesn’t mean you’re automatically ‘depressed’, you may need support and talk through areas of your surrounding life, career, family, relationships or something completely different, with the help of a trained professional.

If you feel you might benefit from a session with Virginia or want to find out a bit more about our counselling services, simply drop us an email or give our Folkestone clinic a call on 01303 370095
